This course is an incredible oppertunity to “plug in the brain with a different currency” towards figure work. The blessing is that Mr Perkins offers SO MUCH fantastic information that we get a week or two to process the info before his return for another lesson. I use this time to reread my notes and cross reference them with anatomy books as well as do drawings of the sculptural coverage areas to further comprehend what was taught the week we work with him. Always when I return to draw/paint after having worked a week in Ecorche, WITHOUT consciously searching my mental notes, I will have subconscious recall of things learned with Mr. Perkins and see how it improoves my ability to draw.
A public forum for JCSA students, instructors, and guests to post views and pose questions on approaches to art education/training and contemporary art; and to discuss applying the knowledge of the past as a means towards understanding and expressing life as an artist today.
