Unfortunately we weren't able to document the lecture/discussion, but we will continue this conversation on the blog. In the future, we will attempt to provide a transcript or some way to reach out to the wider audience who cannot attend. Stay tuned....!

Does the lecture exist as a document that could be posted on the blog? Or is there a transcript that exists? I'm so interested in this kind of discussion! I think it's essential to take place for there to be a true "revival" of the realist movement... rather than being relegated as a reaction to the dead-end of conceptualism.

I second that motion... all the schools in NYC closed (even the colleges) yet the crew at Janus never even mentioned closure or "What if...". We all just bundled a little more clothing, some brought a dry pair of socks and drudged through the driven slush to continue our work... of course having lived in Alaska this was almost t-shirt weather for me! I do have a visitor staying with me from overseas who was taking the Lamb workshop who thought for certain we would not venture the sideways blustering sheets of snow. She even commented on how many "out of towners" in the workshop would decline the inclament weather. But as the instructor had promissed to be there rain or shine, so I told my guest, "look at all the extra instruction you will recieve in the smaller participant's absence," and so we went and she was delighted to have been there all 3 days.

This course is an incredible oppertunity to "plug in the brain with a different currency" towards figure work. The blessing is that Mr Perkins offers SO MUCH fantastic information that we get a week or two to process the info before his return for another lesson. I use this time to reread my notes and cross reference them with anatomy books as well as do drawings of the sculptural coverage areas to further comprehend what was taught the week we work with him. Always when I return to draw/paint after having worked a week in Ecorche, WITHOUT consciously searching my mental notes, I will have subconscious recall of things learned with Mr. Perkins and see how it improoves my ability to draw.
