Workshop- Landscape Painting and Drawing

Please join us for our Exciting new Summer Workshop. This will be a great opportunity to paint directly from natural observation with our great Instructor Dan Thompson.

5 Day Workshop starts: July 29th – August 2nd : 10:00am – 5:00pm.

This course is designed for the serious figurative artist who is not often painting outdoors. Students will meet for five sessions in the historical, landscaped grounds of Sailor’s Snug Harbor in New York City to paint directly from natural observation. Using field easels and working in oil or pencil, students will learn about the composition of landscape as they shape elements of trees, grounds, buildings, fountains or other aspects of their designs into compelling works. Students will be aided in creating several paintings from nature which test their skills in drawing, design, natural structure and outdoor color.
