Trip to the Morgan Library

Today the Janus Collaborative School of Art took a trip to the Morgan Library, located on 225 Madison Avenue.  With the assistance of Dan Thompson we set out on a mission to recreate, and in so doing, learn from Old Master Drawings.  The trip was an inspiration to us all.  It was a great learning experience to see and analyze how artists of the past handled different mediums and applied each stroke to build the masterpieces that were before us.

At the end of our ecorche class with Perkins, he was able to focus on certain muscles and parts of the body on a larger scale. Here’s Steve lecturing about the arm, sculpted at life size.
