Unique 4 week Intensive – Ecorche workshop with *Stephen Perkins*

This unique workshop is designed to explore and understand the human anatomy from the inside out. Over the course of four weeks students will learn to sculpt an anatomical representation of the human body. Starting with the construction of the skeleton, paying particular attention to the shape of the bones, each muscle will be added and its function, characteristics and action examined. – An in-depth study under the guidance of sculptor Stephen Perkins that helps students to gain further insight into the construction of the human figure and explore morphology, structural concepts and rhythmic proportion.

All work will be done in clay with lectures preceding the students work. Lectures will be short but frequent so that students can absorb the meaning and then create the forms in their own work thereby maximizing the retention of the information. Each week will build upon the knowledge and achievements of the previous weeks.
